Love your Home – Homefulness

After a day at work, whether it’s intense, stressful, exciting, short, or boring, it’s time to get home. When we walk through the door it’s as if we hit the pause button and for a few seconds the world stops.
Finally home!
What we feel has a name, and it’s called hopefulness; “the pleasure of coming home”.
Homefulness is born from adopting the concept of mindfulness to the world of interior design and is linked to the feeling of comfort that one feels when arriving home.

To have that feeling, your home must transmit it.
The idea of achieving a pleasant space, that transmits peace and helps to connect with oneself sounds good, doesn’t it?
In this article, we will give you a couple of tips that will make your home THE PERFECT PLACE TO BE.

How to get it? It is very simple.

Sometimes we do not realize that simple things like order, cleanliness, or good decoration, make different atmospheres in the same place.

Thanks to these tips we will help your home to be that place where you can feel homefulness.

First things first:
When we get home, each person follows his or her routine.

Arrive and greet the dog, take off your shoes to be more comfortable, go straight to the kitchen to raid the fridge, lie down on the sofa without having barely taken off your coat…

We don’t want you to change your routine but with these tips, you will help to keep order in the house:

  • Leave the keys in a visible area to avoid losing them.
  • Keep your shoes and coat in the closet at the entrance.
  • If you have shopping with you, don’t be lazy, put it away!
  • Collect the mail and save it to read it later.
  • Leave your purse, computer, or briefcase in your room.

From day one you can already notice the difference, and if you don’t believe us it’s time to put these tricks into practice.

Cleanliness is a factor that greatly influences order, they are two concepts that go hand in hand, without cleanliness there is no order, and vice versa. We could say that cleanliness and order are our allies to achieve homefulness, and disorder is our greatest enemy. Sometimes we don’t realize that things as simple as a tidy room can influence our mood. Anxiety, stress, or anger is what we can feel even without realizing the reason. Taking care of our house is something that we should have as a routine, and more now that we spend more time in it. It’s always easier to say, I’ll do it later, I’m sure I’ll have time tomorrow…. than to do it at the moment, but once you start to dedicate a few minutes a day, it’s not so complicated.

Stop wasting time on clutter and start sorting out your ideas for “your new home”.
You can start with these tricks that are perfect for when you have little time, it is not an excuse!

  • A misplaced bookcase doesn’t match with anything. Use the shelves as a decorative element and avoid overloading them.
  • Placing boxes inside the drawers makes much better use of space and makes it easier to find things, clothes in the closets, kitchen utensils, or toys for the little ones.
  • Both the bathroom and the kitchen are two of the rooms that get the most untidy in the house during the day, so leaving cleaning products on hand will facilitate the process and help you keep your home clean even when you have almost no time.
  • Opening the windows for 10 minutes every morning will bring in fresh, clean air. Ideally, this should be done while making the bed.
  • Label things, such as the kitchen jars to store pasta, rice, sugar…
  • Buy laundry baskets with lids, there is nothing more stressful than a laundry basket full of clothes, and even clothes on the floor.
  • After cooking and cleaning the dishes, go over the floor. No matter how spotless the rest of the kitchen is, a kitchen with a dirty floor doesn’t give that same feeling.
  • Keeping the countertops clear and shiny is one of the most impactful things to do when entering a home.

Here are a couple of ideas so you can do it in your kitchen.

And if you are thinking about decorating, it also plays an important role in homefulness. Your personality is the best tool for decoration because if your house doesn’t have your personality you won’t feel good about it.
We have a couple of ideas to give you to finish creating the best of environments.

Save Space

A good way to save space without losing the essence of your room is to use a bed that serves as a closet inside. The summer clothes that during the winter you do not know where to put them and end up in some corner of the house, pairs of shoes or even books could be the things you can keep among others.
It helps to give a sense of order and spaciousness to the room.

Be Inspired by the Seasons

Make your home live the passage of the seasons during the year: in winter place in every room blankets and velvet cushions, pile carpets are also good companions on cold days, in winter use a range of cheerful colors that illuminate your living room, kitchen, and bedroom and so with the summer and autumn as well.

Take Care of the Details

As soon as you enter the house, the first thing you see is the entrance hall. For us, one of the most important parts of the house because it can make a person feel welcome as soon as they walk through the door or, on the contrary, give a bad first impression.
When you practice mindfulness, you convey the same feeling to everyone – whether it’s a friend coming for lunch or family visiting, we want them to feel at home.
It doesn’t matter if it is small, the important thing is to take care of the details; a mirror next to a small piece of furniture where a book and some freshly bought flowers can be the perfect option, don’t you think?

Wallpaper

Choosing the color of the walls of a house is very important because it will help determine the type of atmosphere that will be generally along with the remaining decoration. To bring that touch of warmth we suggest you choose a textile effect wallpaper that gives the overall cozy effect of a fabric-covered wall.

Rounded and curved shapes are the perfect choice for your furniture as they generate a sense of relaxation and comfort.

A Home with its Light

Play with the lighting in your home. Good window treatments, curtains that allow the light to pass through on sunny days will make the rooms come to life.

Let Nature Be Part of the Interior of your Home

Plants will always help us to bring a touch of freshness, elegance, and cleanliness to the room. Apart from being a decorative element, they purify the air, are therapeutic and in some cases even serve in the kitchen as an ingredient or spice.

Replace a Lamp

Sometimes we don’t realize that it’s the little things that make the difference.
As simple as changing the lamp in the living room and getting a different touch.
Play with patterns, colors, and textures and give life to the room with this little.

Every day a home should be pampered, just as it is on special occasions like Christmas.
Christmas trees, tableware, lights… are all bought to decorate the house, but what about the rest of the year?
